Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, has said that the country will never give up its right to enrich uranium, insisting that the United States has no other choice but to accept it.
He made the remarks in a speech delivered to participants of the annual monetary policy conference, which was broadcast by state media.
President Pezeshkian said that Iran’s nuclear energy program will continue unchanged, stressing that it is a right granted to the country under international law, despite increasing pressure from Western countries.
This comes at a time when talks between Iran and the United States are taking place in Switzerland, mediated by Qatar, with the issue of nuclear weapons development being one of the main points under discussion.
Iran insists that its uranium enrichment program is intended for peaceful purposes and development, but some countries continue to express concerns that it could be used to produce nuclear weapons.
