An armed man was arrested at U.S. President Donald Trump’s golf course in California, two days before his scheduled visit.
The 38-year-old man, identified as Jeanine John Taele, was arrested on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, near Los Angeles.
The man raised suspicion after he was seen moving around the golf course, taking photographs and videos while closely monitoring preparations for security ahead of Trump’s visit.
At the time of his arrest, 16 rounds of ammunition were found in his trouser pocket. A handgun loaded with ammunition and additional rounds were also discovered in his vehicle.
Security officers, working together with the FBI’s counterterrorism unit, continued their investigation at the man’s home in Downey, a suburb of Los Angeles.
The case has been referred to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office to determine what charges he may face.
