Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia is carrying out attacks on Ukraine using North Korean missiles.
Overnight, Russia and Ukraine continued exchanging attacks. In Zaporizhzhia, Russian strikes killed six people and injured about 20 others. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the weapons used in the attacks included missiles supplied by North Korea.
Zelenskyy said North Korea’s continued supply of missiles and military personnel to Russia was helping Pyongyang gain more knowledge about weaknesses in air-defense systems.
Ukraine also carried out strikes inside Russian territory, including an attack on an oil refinery in Tatarstan. Zelenskyy described the operation as an important step by Ukrainian forces. The attack on the Taneco refinery in Nizhnekamsk reportedly killed 13 people and injured dozens more, according to Russian authorities.
Ukraine said Russia launched more than 120 drones during the night, along with various types of missiles. The attacks caused damage to buildings, infrastructure and medical facilities in several Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Kherson, Kharkiv and Sumy.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian drone strikes inside Russia also caused deaths and injuries, including attacks in Tatarstan and other Russian regions. The latest exchange of strikes highlights the continued escalation of the Russia-Ukraine war, with both sides increasingly targeting infrastructure and military-related facilities far from the front lines.
